Last of the produce 8 Months, 1 Week ago
We have eaten the last of our home grown veg. Parsnips, carrots, potatoes and beetroot. The beetroot we ate as a warm veg and thoroughly enjoyed it, (leftovers we ate the next day with balsamic on!) Whilst weeding I found half a bucket of potatoes! One advantage of polytunnel gardening, the produce has been protected during the bad weather!
Of course all this eaten with one of John & Nige's geese! Wow! What flavour!
Afterwards we relaxed by the fire with a glass of our own raspberry brandy.
Sometimes I just love our smallholder's lifestyle!

Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!
Happy New Year!

Am making a goose pie for tonight's evening meal as Nige's parents are not keen on eating a bird they became fond of and then the bones will be making a soup for tomoorow night, I'm sorry, cawl for tomorrow night with some homemade herb foccacia yum yum! Who said geese were greasey - I hope Nige or I don't get a chill as we will have no fat to rub on!

Can I suggest you write the Goose's name in pastry on the top of the pie!
