About the DSA

The Dyfed Smallholder's Association has been active for over 21 years and is one of the oldest smallholder groups in the UK. You can read some of our history here.

Membership of the association has the following benefits:

  • Our monthly newsletter
  • Regular meetings featuring guest speakers
  • Access to our help-lines
  • Hosted events such as our summer farm visits
  • Access to the members' only section of the website.

Each month we hold an general meeting in Carmarthen with a speaker on a subject related to smallholding, livestock or crafts. These are a fantastic opportunity to meet other like-minded people for tips, information and for a chat. Admission to the meetings is £1 per person for members or £2 for non-members. You are welcome to come along to see us or sign-up on the door. Details of up-coming meetings can be found on the events list.

Every year, we run a busy schedule of social events. These include specially arranged visits to sites and farm walks across Dyfed. We also host popular harvest lunch, Christmas and New Year gatherings and the annual bowling competition.

One membership fee covers the whole holding or household.

You can join the Association quite easily by downloading and returning our membership form.
